What is FreeCell?
FreeCell is a Solitaire variant where all 52 cards are dealt face up into eight columns. Four free cells each hold a single card as temporary storage. Because nothing is hidden, almost every deal is solvable with the right sequence of moves — it's a thinking player's Solitaire.
Our version is unlimited and free: deal as many games as you like, drag and drop or tap to auto-move, undo freely, and play without an account.
How to play (60-second version)
- Build the foundations up by suit, Ace → King.
- Build the columns down in alternating colours.
- Each free cell holds one card — your scratch space.
- You can move a run of cards if you have enough free cells and empty columns to do it.
- Any card may go onto an empty column.
Frequently asked questions
- Is FreeCell free?
- Yes — completely free, supported by ads, no login or sign-up.
- Do I need an account?
- No — play without registration; your stats and daily streak are saved in your browser.
- Are all FreeCell games winnable?
- Almost all of them. Because every card is visible, the vast majority of deals can be solved with careful play.
- How do I move several cards at once?
- You can move a run as long as you have enough free cells and empty columns. The game only lets you drop a run that fits the limit.
- Is there a daily puzzle?
- Yes — the Daily Challenge deals everyone the same game each day and tracks your streak.
